Dear Give Children Hope Sponsors and Friends,

We hope that the month of January was a good one for you and your families.  Things are pretty much the same here in the Philippines since the start of the pandemic but everyone tries to just move forward and do something to support themselves and their families. Despite all the not-so-good things, the month of January was a special one for all the students and families in all the sponsored schools of Give Children Hope. The first Rice Assistance Project for this year was all accomplished thanks to all of you, teachers, and volunteers.   Here are some pictures of parents and older students in Dugcal, Sua, Maravilla, and Dolores Tirador Elementary Schools lining up for their bags of rice.

Also, Andie Claveria, a ten-year-old student from Maravilla Elementary School penned out a beautiful letter to show her gratitude to all of you. She is in 5th grade and the youngest of seven siblings. In her own words, she expressed; “I believe that education moves darkness to light that is why I always go to school even though life in the barrio is hard. My family and I is always grateful to Give Children Hope for providing hot meals in school every day. I go to school without taking my breakfast but because of the generosity of Give Children Hope, I am not afraid of being hungry every day.  In this pandemic time, face to face learning is not allowed instead we have modular learning but it’s not a hindrance for Give Children Hope to extend their help to all Maravillians. They sent money to buy rice milled. We received rice milled thrice already.   In this way, it is a great help for my family. My father is a tricycle driver. Thank you so much Give Children Hope USA, Sir Don Cooper, Dr. Doug Copper, and Cooper family for having a big heart for the children who need help. More blessings to all of you for helping us. Maraming Maraming Salamat po! (Thank you very very much!)”
