Dear Give Children Hope sponsors and friends,

We hope you are having a great start of the year.

Last month was very challenging for our fellow Pinoys living in the are in Luzon called Batangas. Lots of families were displaced because of the volcanic eruption. Three weeks since, some families were allowed to go back home and the children were able to go back to school. There are areas that are still on lockdown. We are hoping that the families will be able to recover from this disaster and the students are able to go back to school soon. There was an outpour of help coming from all parts of the country. It is really great that everyone wants to participate and help in any way they can. It may take some time but we know that our fellowmen will be able to recover from this.

This month’s featured student is Whayne Oliver, a student from Dugcal Elementary School. He is the third of five children. His father is a vegetable vendor while his mom is a liaison officer at the provincial capitol of Camarines Sur. He is grateful for the daily meals and especially happy for those students who go to school without any money. He can’t thank you enough and wants you to know that he will not get tired of thanking and supporting you.

Whayne Oliver may be small but his heart is overflowing with gratitude. His letter in the vernacular is filled with sincerity and the words, “Maraming maraming salamat po” which translates to “Thank you very very much”.

We hope that these words from the sponsored children fill your heart with love.

Thank you for all that you do. We love you!

For the sponsored children,
