Dear Give Children Hope sponsors and friends,

We hope you are all doing very well!

The students are back from their week-long wellness break from October 27-31. We hope that they were all able to enjoy and relax and to just be free from all the school work and just spend time with their families and do some fun things. Unfortunately though, the resumption of classes on November 3 was welcomed with a typhoon that prompted class cancellations. Camarines Sur and Ilo-Ilo areas where our sponsored schools are located are both on the path of the typhoon. We are hoping that everyone will be safe and the typhoon will just pass by swiftly. We have been here many times and we know that we will be able to recover.

It’s almost half of the school year and we are so thankful for the daily meals that kept the children fed since the beginning of the school year and the years before that. It is critical for school children to receive proper meals to help in their concentration and development. Some politicians are voicing plans on making a law that will provide free breakfast for all school children in the Philippines, we are not sure when it will materialize so we are thankful that the Meals at School Program of Give Children Hope has been in place for years and continues to help school children until now. And on behalf of the sponsored children,  Jamilla Mae Tendenilla of Sua Elementary School would like to express her gratitude for your kindness and support to all the students in her dear Sua Elementary School. In her words she expresses, “Your feeding program really changed our lives as we get to be more motivated to go to school. There is no perfect words to express my appreciation but we are really thankful for everything you have done for us.” She wishes you all good health and genuine happiness.

Jamilla Mae Tendenilla, Sua Elementary School

We love you and thank you for all that you do.

For the sponsored children,
