Dear Give Children Hope sponsors and friends,

We hope you all had a good start of November.

The last days of October were especially challenging for the Camarines Sur area – the location of Sua Elementary School — as it is one of the hardest-hit area by Typhoon Kristine (Trami) which started to bring heavy rains on October 22 until finally making a landfall on October 24.

The typhoon caused widespread flooding, landslide and caused damages to roads and infrastructures.

Classes has since been suspended until lifted. Most families who evacuated have returned home to start cleaning their properties and save whatever is left.

Here are some photos of the area during the typhoon and an attached video of the kitchen in Sua Elementary School

We hope for continued strength and comfort for the families and that they will be able to receive all the help needed to bounce back.

Despite the devastating event, one of our students wants to express gratitude for the help you have all been extending. June Rey Pelobello is a student from Dolores Elementary School. His beloved school was spared from the damages cased by the typhoon and the feeding continued during those days. He wants to say thank you for the delicious meals every day.

We hope that the feeding will resume in Sua Elementary School so that our students will again receive some delicious hot meals from the Meals at School Program of Give Children Hope.

We thank you for all that you do and for that help you have been extending. It gives us hope, especially during the hard days.

For the sponsored children,
