Dear Give Children Hope Sponsors and Friends,
We hope you are all having a great time as you read this letter.
This month of July is the celebration of Nutrition Month across all schools in the Philippines. The event emphasizes that access to nutritious food is a fundamental right. There were activities and parades where students were adorned with costume pieces related to nutrition and nutritious food. It may be a government responsibility but we are grateful for the people who step up and do their share to provide nutritious food to our students. The Meals at School Program is one of those programs that has been providing hot and nutritious meals to almost 2000 students every day for more than a decade. We are truly grateful that you help keep these program running, benefiting students and families around the area.
Meanwhile, a huge part of the Philippines has been experiences heavy rains and floods due to tropical depressions. Classes and government work have been cancelled since Monday in those affected areas and the rain will likely to continue until next week. We are saddened to see families and properties suffer and we hope that the rain will stop soon so we can all recover.
Nonetheless, we are still positive about the coming days and we remain grateful for all of you who continue to ensure that the children receive hot and nutritious meals every day. Kristal Tres Reyes of Sua Elementary School wants to express her gratitude for the daily meals at school for the students in her beloved Sua Elementary School. She has been a recipient of the feeding since she was in Kindergarten.
Thank you for all that you do and for keeping the children fed, healthy, and happy.
For the sponsored children,
